A LETTER FROM OUR FOUNDER
As a teen, I witnessed my mother struggle to find help caring for my father, who was battling ALS. She worked tirelessly to provide for our family, and when she couldn’t find reliable care, I stepped in, not because I had to, but because I loved him. At just 14 years old, I stayed home from school some days to care for my dad. I fed, bathed and groomed him, gave him his medications, and exercised his arms and legs to keep him comfortable. At the time, I didn’t know I was stepping into the role of a caregiver. I thought I was just being a daughter, taking care of my dad. But that experience awakened the nurse in me and planted the seed for my calling.
Now, with over 26 years of nursing experience, much of it in home health, I meet numerous patients who are suffering in silence. Some have no one at all. Others have caregivers who are overwhelmed, burnt out, or simply don’t know how to care for them properly. Some are even being neglected, not out of cruelty, but out of a lack of support and knowledge. This breaks my heart.
Divine Harvest Home Care was born out of a desire to change this, to restore the love, kindness, and compassion that caregiving should always bring. This business is deeply personal to me. It’s my chance to be part of the solution, not only by providing exceptional care to clients, but by educating families on how to care for their loved ones and prevent caregiver burnout. It’s also my opportunity to treat caregivers and employees with dignity and respect, to build a company culture rooted in kindness and fairness.
The name Divine Harvest came from my personal journey. Throughout life, I have faced trials, setbacks, and people who hoped to see me fail. But I continued to sow good seeds, caring for others, giving from my heart, and staying true to who I am. I believe now is the time for me to reap a divine harvest, not just in blessings for myself, but in the abundance of care, support, and love we can offer to others.
This isn’t just a business. It is a calling. And I am grateful for the opportunity to lead with compassion and serve with purpose.
